Terrafibre™ Mulch Mats and Blankets improve plant growth and survival by suppressing weed germination and growth. Placed on the soil around seedlings or established plants, Terrafibre™ prevents competitive weeds from stealing light, nutrients, and moisture. The natural insulation properties of hemp also protect plants from temperature extremes, creating an ideal growing environment.
The matting is suitable for establishing a wide range of vegetation, including trees and shrubs, and for controlling invasive weeds in various landscaping or reclamation projects. Made from a thick 1000gsm hemp mat, it blocks all light penetration, effectively preventing soil erosion, conserving moisture, and insulating plants from temperature fluctuations. Over time, it fully biodegrades, returning nutrients to the soil and supporting healthy plant growth.
Available in pre-cut 12”, 16”, and 18” round or square mats, as well as custom rolls and cuts. Custom sizing is available for both squares and full rolls—contact us to discuss your project needs.

How do you install the Mulch Mats?
The Terrafibre Mulch Mats are lighter and easier to apply than mulches. Simply slip a Terrafibre square around the base of an individual tree seedling and hammer two stakes in the diagonal corners to firmly secure the square.

Do you need to add anything to the Mulch Mats? Or are they ready for installation straight from the packet?
No, there is no need to add anything to the Mulch Mats. You simply take it out of the packet and place it around the tree seedling.
