“Inspired, fueled and renewed by nature, we build, grow, and prosper

At BioComposites Group (BCG), we design and build products that exploit the extraordinary mechanical qualities of common plants and trees, such as industrial hemp and flax. Based in the Canadian prairies, we draw our raw material from local agriculture and forestry industries. Most of it was previously considered waste. Our scientists and engineers exploit the incredible qualities of the industrial hemp plant to create an ever-expanding range of products, with the potential to solve critical problems facing industries worldwide.

“Everything we make starts with the genius of nature.”

BETTER
PERFORMANCE

Our primary source of material comes from the industrial hemp plant. Hemp has a cellular structure that is extremely strong, light, flexible and versatile.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

BCG products are made with the underutilized byproduct of the hemp plant. Our products are 100% biodegradable and fully compostable.

CANADIAN
MADE

Terrafibre products use Canadian grown fibres that are decorticated and cleaned and Manufactured in Drayton Valley, Alberta.

Custom Solutions

BCG manufactures a moldable natural fibre composite sheet product made primarily from hemp and other agricultural fibres. The composition of our mat can be customized to a particular application due to our unique ability to blend different fibres together.

BCG has developed multiple natural fibre solutions to a wide range of applications. By having the ability to blend different types of fibre together, the composition of our mats can be customized given the particular application. We strive to become the leader in natural fibre non-wovens.

From our Co-Founders:

Brenda and I always believed that replacing synthetic products with locally grown, natural products would result in a better world. They began a journey of manufacturing natural fibres into healthy, earth-friendly products at a commercial scale in 2010.

We were, and still are, pioneers. Many of the products designed, manufactured and sold have not been made before. Our suppliers, employees and customers work together to create innovative products. These products are more sustainable and perform better than other synthetic options.

Little did we know we would lead a hemp-fibre uprising where farmers, rural communities, employees, consumers and Earth would all benefit.

“We are so proud of all those who work in and support the hemp industry. We will continue to do our part to ensure that hemp benefits all those involved.”
